Introduction of automated remuage for sparkling wine production

In Australia (c.1965) and California (c.1966) automated remuage (riddling) systems were developed to allow greatly improved efficiency in bottle fermented sparkling winemaking. By the late 1970s systems were sufficiently optimised to allow their widespread use world-wide
