Continuous systems
Date or time period: Beyond 2010
The development of a continuous system (as opposed to the current ‘batch’ system) to produce high quality wine. As a subset of this:
- Continuous pressing with automated on-line, real time compositional analysis to stream juice and wine press-cuts
- Automated barrel emptying, cleaning and filling; the time they are emptied being automated according to pre-determined specifications of wine composition for each wine or even each barrel
- Automated wine transfers and blending, also automated according to pre-determined specifications of wine composition
